Acne Unfiltered CPD WORKSHOP: We Beat the Heat!

Updated: Aug 16

Despite a heat wave and warnings of transport disruption across the capital, 88% of registered attendees made it to Willan House on 25 June for Acne Unfiltered CPD workshop — and the day more than delivered.

The room brought together a genuinely mixed group: consultant dermatologists, registrars, GPs, pharmacists, and specialist nurses, all there for the same reason — practical, no-nonsense acne education.

What the Day Covered

The programme ran from morning to afternoon and covered a lot of ground:

  • Pathophysiology & Treatment Landscape

  • Acne in Skin of Colour

  • Late-onset & Complex Acne

  • Skincare in Acne

  • Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation & Scarring

  • Running a Private Acne Clinic

  • Case-based Interactive Workshop

  • Controversies, Social Media & Patient Expectations

The day was led by Dr Perin Celebi, Consultant Dermatologist at the Royal Free Hospital, and Dr Jasmine Mann, Consultant Dermatologist at the Homerton University Hospital and 108 Harley Street. Both were praised throughout for being exceptionally clear and approachable — no small feat when the temperature outside was into heat-warning territory.

Rather than a traditional lecture format, the day felt far more like a mini MDT. Questions flowed constantly. The speakers engaged with them all. By the afternoon workshop, what had started as an educational event felt almost personal — the kind of peer conversation you rarely get in a formal setting.

On the Day

Bright Med did its best to keep everyone cool — ice lollies proved remarkably popular — and the programme was generous with breaks and plenty of food. Judging by the feedback, the pacing was well received.

Six industry sponsors supported the event, and attendees had the opportunity to interact with them throughout the day.

What Attendees Said

The feedback speaks for itself:

  • 100% of respondents rated the event good to excellent

  • 92.9% would attend another Bright Med event

  • 100% would recommend a Bright Med event to a colleague

Some of the comments we received:

"Acne in treatment of colour was very useful to individualise treatment."
"The ability to ask lots of questions and picking up lots of useful practical tips."
"Very topical presentations. Speakers were excellent! Seamless day, clearly very well organised."

Thank you to everyone who joined us, to Dr Celebi and Dr Mann for a genuinely excellent day, and to our six sponsors for making the event possible.

We are already planning the next one. Watch this space.
